General office tasks
Assist the staff with high priority jobs or work more independently on longer term research projects. Depending on your preference you can be on call for rush jobs or help once a week. We ask a minimum time-commitment of 2 hours/week.

After School Programs - Girlfriends
Volunteer mentors will assist the Program Coordinator carry out activities and dicussion with our "girlfriends." The program's main objective is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment, where adolescent girls can come together for the opportunity to learn, experience, share and discuss personal topics and issues relevant to their age.
Help with Booths
Keep up the good work! Enjoy the compliments you get at the booth. Learn how important it is to keep connected to the community and help raise awareness about the Environment Network.
Set up, run and take down the booth, inform and hand out information.

Distribute our Brochures and Educational Info
Help to get the message out to the public. Build-up and maintain network of contacts in your community to distribute our brochures. Donate some store or company space to display for distribution.

Be part of a team to prepare or run an event, or assist a staff member: this job requires well organized and enthusiastic individuals. Your participation will be crucial at community events to raise public awareness. We are also looking for people to keep us informed about upcoming events that we should be part of! Putting up Posters
Take your share of posters and put them up at businesses and around town. Posters need to be put up on short notice or in advance.

Job Openings
The Environment Network requires a full time staff person. The role that this person will play within the organization is as follows:
Ø To remain in the office / shoppe / demonstration centre throughout the day (with appropriate breaks) in order to ensure that a body is present at all times during the shoppe hours (9 a.m. to 6p.m).
Ø To coordinate the opening and closing of the shoppe
Ø Knowledge of all programs will be essential.
Ø To provide excellent customer service to customers and visitors to the organization
Ø To provide telephone reception and direct calls to appropriate individuals.
Ø To coordinate ecoENERGY phone calls, bookings and filing
Ø To assist shoppe customers, handle cash and balance daily sales
Ø To research products for the shoppe and issues related to the community
Qualifications:
Ø Motivated, trustworthy, positive and a great sense of humour
Ø Education in environmental programming and understanding of sustainability.
Ø Outgoing personality
Ø Work well with the public
Ø Flexibility
Ø Excellent telephone skills
Ø Superior writing and communication skills
Ø Knowledge of social marketing techniques

Ø Knowledge of Windows programs and general IT is imperative
This position will begin with a 3 month probationary contract for employment. In the event that the successful individual fits with the organization and satisfies the above requirements negotiations for full time employment will ensue.
