Jennifer Sims

Director

Growing up in the natural beauty of Collingwood, Jen developed a deep passion for protecting the environment from a young age. This drive led her to earn a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Western Ontario. Her environmental journey began as a camp counselor during the inaugural year of the Environment Network’s Explorations Green summer camp. She then pursued a career in outdoor education, inspiring youth to appreciate and safeguard the natural world.

With over 20 years of experience as an elementary school teacher, Jen is dedicated to student well-being and nurturing a love for environmental stewardship in her students. In her personal life, she lives on a hobby farm with her family, growing fruits and vegetables, raising pasture-fed pork, and producing free-range eggs.

Jen enjoys hiking, reading, gardening, swimming, biking, snowboarding, and has recently taken up pickleball. She feels privileged to serve as a board member and looks forward to contributing to the well-being of both the community and the natural environment in Collingwood and the surrounding areas.
