Grants and Loans
There are multiple grant programs currently available to homeowners, depending upon eligibility. Presently, Ontario residents can access the Oil to Heat Pump program from Natural Resources Canada, the Energy Affordability Program from Save on Energy, and the Home Winterproofing Program from Enbridge Gas.

This program offers interest free loans in addition to Canada Greener Homes Grant to enable homeowners complete energy efficient retrofits to their homes.
Homeowners are eligible for a loan (unsecured personal loan on approved credit) amount between $5,000 – $40,000 through this program. Only one loan is available per eligible property and homeowner, and it can be repaid over a period of 10 years.
The Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program, delivered in partnership with the Canada Greener Homes Grant is not accepting any new applicants effective Monday, February 5th, 2024.
Any pre-retrofit energy assessments completed after Monday, February 5th, 2024 will not be accepted into the program. Please note that the Canada Greener Homes Loan remains open and requires a pre-retrofit evaluation in order to apply.
